Frikkx is an Icelandic artist who lives and works in London. Frikkx studied to be a draughtsman in Iceland and later photography at the interactive design institute (University of Hertfordshire). His background in composing computer music and software development can be seen in his art. Frikkx’s process is to hand draw digitally an image and then reconstruct or/and manipulate it before the final result is printed out on photographic paper.
All Frikkx’s work is done in small series and each image is only printed once. Frikkx uses often use the same illustration in other series in different ways in various pieces, it is like the images represent a caption of a memory or a thought that can be viewed in multiple ways. Frikkx leave his art open to interpretation for the viewer by giving the work none descriptive names.
Frikkx does not focus too much on the medium use for his work as it is more about the creativity and the journey that takes to get to the end results. As one of the aim of his art is to bring something new into the world that does not exist there already.
